2021 repress

Actually very sneaky! No idea who's behind this, and i think that's the way they like it, but whoever it is is deserving of a lot of credit. Following five equally shadowy 12"s, Pretty Sneaky deliver a long player spread across what the tracklisting indicates to be four 15 minute tracks, but the records show to be around eight or so individual songs. No matter, really, since this one is all about mood and could just as well be one long piece, though if i had to choose, i'd say head straight to side D. Think of PS as a halfway point between the midnight gloom of the latest CS + Kreme LP and the dubwise minimalism of Pole, Villalobos and the Perlon label. I'll be honest, i picked this one for the name alone, but the rewards are infinite here. One of the most instantly gratifying records i've heard in a minute, the same instant appeal as the aforementioned CS + Kreme, that Rezzett album and the Loidis 12" from a while back, in that it immediately draws you into its world without giving anything away about itself. Got a feeling this one will go out of print quick, but straight into Top 5 of the year for me already.
