Neatly titled collection of woozy lo-fi songcraft from Sophie Weil's Syko Friend project, her fourth under that name and perhaps most realised to date. She's joined here by several other contributors, who undoutedly flesh out the arragments into something richer and detailed, though it's equally undoubtable who the star of the show is. There's a Lydia Tomkiw quality to her vocal delivery, while the songs themselves eb and flow with a gently psychedelic quality, something enchanted that's caught between the bedsit mysticisms of the more fringe installments in the early Flying Nun catalogue and the output of fella West Coast undergrounders Fleas of Mercy and The Spatulas. Melody rich, detail dense sideways spun alchemy. Dizzy magic, indeed. There's a plenty long enough lineage of such things. And there's always room on the broom for another inspired iteration.
