The one you've all been waiting for, finally on vinyl. Well, in part anyway. Fake Sleep collects a manageable selection of the 100+ tracks that comprised the mammoth Sent From My Telephone and, because that simply wasn't enough to choose from, adds in three more previously unheard recordings. The extensive multi-disc boxset it would take to house the entirety of ... Telephone feels a big ask in the context of 2023's financial hellscape, but Fake Sleep does a grand job of approximating the time-dilated, diaristic communique of that collection (even if it is missing Badman). A distillation and refracting of modern abstract and/or minimalist pop into something ostensibly new, something like but not exactly Hype Williams, HTRK, Carla dal Forno and Joanne Robertson's work with Dean Blunt, and, given the ambition of its initial volume, arguably sui generis. Since the brilliance of Voice Actor is hardly a secret anymore, i'll leave you with my parting thought: 69 Love Songs for the iPhone generation. It's not far off the truth...
