Cassette
Kashual Plastik back doing very Kashual Plastik things with this billion track, obdurately presented tape compilation surveying the worldwide noise underground, some names well familiar, others entirely new. And when I say 'noise', be aware this is no straight forward speaker crushing affair - there's all sorts of clicks, cut and manipulations at play here, from the spooky feedback waltz of Greymouth to Crude Fact's white noise ripper 'Trouble Divine', to Natalia Beyliss' typically moving piano arrangements into Dressing's through-the-Stargate blasted ambience. This is the kind of music-making that works best on cassette, as one immersive listen, lost in the fog of anti-formalist iconoclasm and tape-hiss decay. If you like your sounds fried and half-alive and your dad sure as hell it aint real music, KP have the goods for you. As reliable as ever.
