2022 begins in much the same way the last few years have with another vital transmission from the Gothenburg underground. The keener among you will recognise the Incipientium name from two now-impossible to find cassettes from last year, the first of which was a split with our beloved Arv & Miljo, and the second a 15 minute piece issued on Forfall. It's the latter that constitutes the entirety of Side A, a murky trawl through the digital swamp stained with a grainy ethno-industrial queasiness. It's immediately obvious why it was deemed necessary to pluck this from the obscuro-cassette world and on to a record. The four tracks that make up the second side are more discrete affairs, each seemingly a further extrapolation of a particular element from that monster opener - hypnotic drone, gently blistering freeform noise, and in the closer, a flowering electronic hymnal that follows a Japanese sound garden like melody and seems to explode into bright light as it crescendos. Best of all, Belastning is evidence of a third wave emerging outta GTB, a scene regenerating itself, blossoming again. Well, it's not far off another Spring...Edition of hardly anything, of course. Be swift. Strictly one per customer, be a friend.
