Trilogy Tapes cap their year in pretty much the same fashion they started with an essential turn from midnight denizens, CS + Kreme. This latest 12 is billed as 'Snoopy's epilogue', the Snoopy in question of course being the debut album released back in February, though these two long-form tracks go deeper than anything on that record. April Fools' Day on the A is a mammoth 16 min spiritual on a gentle raga flex, pulsing and undulating with a little Terry Riley style mastery. A subtle but immersive trip, it might be the best thing they've done. On the flip Bugged is, in relative terms, a little more extroverted, mainly because of Conrad Standish's guiding bass and that high in the mix 808. So good, and strange to think of songs this impressive as addendums to anything - these stand tall and true alongside the best of 2020. Kreme, Kremey, anything Kreme related - it's all gravy round here.
