Intensely gnarled blackened noise acrobatics from a new Gothenburg-based four-piece who count Sewer Election's Dan Johansson and Erik Nystrand from Capers amongst their ranks. The sounds that have emanated from the city in the past decade or so have generally fallen into a few different camps, evolving from visceral industrial electronic decrepitude into ambient bedroom concreté and post-punk-adjacent DIY lo-fi folk. It's very much the former to which Infinity Quarter most obviously belong, reflecting the approaches of their parent bands and the more punishing contributions to early FFFM comp, Bränn Ner Hela Skiten. Why it takes four people to make a racket like this I'm not hip to the complexities of, but infinity certainly has the space for more than one, so, you know, why not! And it must be quite the experience to wrangle together a few buds and attempt to seriously blast some souls in this manner - think Caspar Brotzmann's Zulutime caught in the crosshairs of Hanson Records and all the hellish stargate opening excitement that might entail. Really lovely horrible stuff.
