Still don't know much about this lot, but if you told me Gaia Tones were outta Bristol then i'd have no reason to doubt you. On this latest 7" - a curious choice of format given the music they make, but don't let that deter you - GT fully embrace the murky, smoked-out dub leanings of their previous three 12"s and serve up a perfect pairing of 90s style West Country electronics, at once paranoid and also somehow welcoming. It's a weird trick they pull, but i get that dope cloud thick soundsystem menace as well as a touch of lovers rock attitude, and on the A there's something of late period Burial in the mix (it's the sample). Another shift in the Gaia Tones sound, who across these four releases this last year and half show themselves to be highly adept additions to continuum. Have reloaded this one multiple times since it landed yesterday. Would happily accept extended edits of both any time. V. limited as per.
