Fresh off their contribution to last year's much vaunted Two Years of Spring cassette, LA's City Illusion are back in the ring with this latest two track dubplate out through their own Tears of Joy imprint. We're some ways removed from the pastoral beauty of that collection. Here we've two takes on the same track across both sides, the A a slo-mo dub techno terminator that mashes all stone and bone beneath its feet, and on the flip a more consciously 'dub-wise' mix that essentially turns down the drums and winds up the bass and snake-charmer melodica led top line. Two Years of Spring? More a lifetime of dystopic dread. Well, it is January after all. Only 20 of these in existence, so no sitting on your hands for this one.
