Selkies comes back into view with their second split release, Wyn MT this time joined by the unnamed duo, Pieces of Work. There really is a large amount of music on show here, 23 tracks in total, each part a glinted abstraction of a wider shared vision - it seems that Wyn MT choose their collaborators wisely, as both acts appear clearly in sync. Quixotic electronics born of stoner insight brush up against pastoral guitar digressions, dancing pianos and plunderphonics & found sound, each combining to channel a playful sense of domesticity. Picture something like a Money Mark solo album reimagined in the image of early Actress. Products of the bedroom producer set up no doubt and very much diaristic in presentation, but don't let that undermine the sense of adventure they're showcasing. These fellas are happy to pass through any stargate or down any rabbithole on a whim. Wherever the plume of greenish smoke might take them, i'd imagine.
