Nearly 20 years after their previous release the duo of Ben Spiers and Antony Milton reunite for a new session.
Seen Through itself essentially morphed into Glory Fckn Sun when percussionist Simon O'Rorke joined the ranks but that band and any chance of further Seen Through recordings receded when Ben Spiers upsticked and relocated to the UK. Permanently..
A rare visit to his homeland provided an opportunity too good to pass up and the resulting recordings pick up pretty much where they left off 2 decades ago continuing to explore deeper into a droning minimalist take on the classic NZ 'free-noise' aesthetic.
The album 'Quarrying' itself is a selection of the more contemplative of the resulting recordings, a set of spacious improvisations for feedback guitar, cheap keyboard and occasional drums.
Brainy, but dreamy enough to nod off to.
