Retromania/hauntology manna with these conceptually perfect capturing of a world that's gone... The title is not messing around: these two tapes collect together a series of pirate radio jingles cut-and-shut back-to-back that form a kind of nostalgia feedback loop. They're brilliant thigs because they're equally funny, ridiculous and creative, but also, if we're gonna be all quasi K-Punk about it, ghostly transmissions of a cultural history that belongs to and for the people, and in their DIY playfulness, find a spirit continually reborn and reanimated with each new street level evolution. There's few moments in music history that feel truly endemically British. But this is one of them. And like i say, they're just straight up funny. Funny and it makes you think...
