The unknown terrains of the European avant garde/underground go under serious investigation on this new split mixtape from Les Disques Omnison's Tom Val and Pablo Mirón of Miradasvas. We get a 45 min side each from the well-suited duo, each taking a deepdive into their respective collections in exploration of roads less travelled. Always room for this kind of thing, and its function is especially useful in throwing some light on the relatively shadowy happenings of their respective operations. Like the NWW list (with which So Far From Dreams certainly shares some crossover), view these song choices as a roadmap of sorts, the combination of free/improvised music, outsider folk, contemporary classical, and the otherwise uncategorisable/hybridised reflective of the outre tendencies of their own compositions. And even if you're unaware of what Val and Mirón ordinarily do, you might well still find a few new surprises and favourites hidden in here. Shazam wont help you, but good luck and godspeed nonetheless.
