Moin - Capable

A Moin mixtape, always a thing of wonder and education, and sometimes a bit of comforting familiarity. This latest 80 min set, a follow up i guess to the Flush tape from last year (now being hawked for silly money on Discogs), serves a double purpose of both reflecting the (post-)hardcore impulses that colour the trio's own music while also taking a walk around the fringes of less obvious sonic touchstones. It's a bracing mix of new, old and a lot of the otherwise uncelebrated - you aint gonna hear that Dry-Rot song in many places i shouldn't imagine, though it makes perfect sense next to Still House Plants. You can almost hear the baton being passed, yknow? Capable does what a mixtape does best, connects some dots and throws open a few trapdoors. It's what we've come to expect from this mob.
