Angel Bat Dawid - The Oracle

Thrilled to confirm we have a handful of the Angel Bat Dawid cassette now available. Limited to just 111 copies and previously only available via the label's Bandcamp page, I suspect we might be the only shop in Europe (possibly the world) that currently has these. Fancy! Not quite as fancy as the album itself, mind. There's a reason why all and sundry have been getting excited about this - I paraphrase, but I believe the Wire described this as the emergence of a vital new voice. This is emotional, spiritually inclined, vaguely political jazz that feels like it belongs to another time. But it doesn't - this is happening right now! There's something special happening in and around Chicago right now, and it's not surprising this is being released by the same label that gave us that Makaya McCraven record late last year. This is going to be near the top of all end of year lists, which might hopefully mean they'll press it on vinyl at some point (no plans yet sadly). In the meantime, I'd pick this up now if i were you. Collectors item occurring in real time right here!
