We invited Yates to put this mix together off the back of his excellent Tollard LP, released via Trilogy Tapes early on in 2024. The hour or so of music we get here is partially reflective of the sounds that defined that LP: subtle compositional work, slow-moving ambience, jazz-not-jazz arrangements and a general lean towards the pastoral and the Spring it seems we're finally about to encounter.

There's a number of very WOE-friendly names in attendance here (and plenty new to discover, too), and it's a particular pleasure to hear the astonishing Cukor Bila Smert drift into the reed-y tones of Ellen Arkbro and Flaer's bucolic beauty into Fujiiiiiita's elemental drone, connecting mindsets, approaches, worldviews across borders/generations etc. This is the kind of thing we had in mind when beginning the series and Yates has nailed the brief effortlessly.
