Producers of perhaps the best guitar-orientated/adjacent record of 2022, Amateur Hour now turn their hand to mixtape curation with this hour or so long contribution to our Inner World series, apparently their first attempt at such an exercise.
Much like their records, it's a sprawling and sometimes jolting trip through hazy six strong dynamics, flashes of white noise and aggression, ethereal tones and strident indiepop. If you've seen that NWW style list they put together to accompany their latest album, you'll already have a good idea of what to expect. And because they've also included some unreleased cuts of their own music here, that list reads not so much as a set of recommendations but a roadmap for the distinctive Amateur Hour sound itself - coming in at angles, spiralling off into outerzones, always returning to a melodic centre.
